The Night Before Kindergarten Poem for Twin Sisters

Sometime before bed, I use ChatGPT to create a customized story for J&K. I love that I can take inputs from them so it is customized to whatever we are going through (and will always have a lesson and end with drifting off to sleep).

On the night before their first day of kindergarten I used it to create a custom story for both of them about being brave, strong, and confident. They said, 'Mom, one more, one more!' and it produced the most beautiful poem, especially as it is the first year they will be in separate classes.

The Night Before Kindergarten Poem

Tomorrow’s the day—it’s time to begin,

Kindergarten’s calling for you and your twin.

Two brave young girls, with hearts full of cheer,

Off to new classrooms, the big day is here!

Backpacks are ready, shoes by the door,

Lunches are packed and clothes are no chore.

But deep down inside, you both might feel small,

Wondering what if you’re not side by side at all.

“It’s strange without you,” one sister may say,

“I’ll miss you so much during the day.”

But here’s something true, and always will be—

You’re connected by love no one else can see.

One class for Kinsley, one for Jayna too,

Each with adventures waiting for you.

You’ll meet new friends and try something new,

Then run back together when the school day is through.

So whisper your giggles and do your twin cheer,

And know that your sister is always near.

When you’re apart, just send her a smile—

Your hearts are linked, even over a mile.

Tonight as you snuggle, cuddle up tight,

Dream happy dreams and sleep through the night.

For tomorrow you’ll shine, each in your way—

Two brave little stars lighting up the day.
