Taking Twin Toddlers to a Birthday Party By Yourself - I did it and You Can too!

Updated: Aug 18, 2021

I was so excited to see we had been invited to our neighbor's birthday party....then overwhelmed when I realized it was the weekend my husband was out of town. I thought there was no way I could do it - but my husband looked at me and said, "You totally have to go..." and go we did.

I even grabbed a picture before we left:

The girls had an absolute blast and I was grateful for some adult conversation (in between cheddar bunny spills, minor arguments, and refilling water bottles].

I had planned on the 3 of us eating at the party to save myself a night of cooking...but that was a bit aggressive. The idea of juggling toddlers + bounce house + 20 kids while eating a taco was too much....so I settled for a white claw instead - and even finished it on the walk home. Still a win....and eggs for dinner which was quick and easy for everyone.

As a twin mom, the thing you have to remember, is that people are always happy to help you out, you just have to remember to ASK. We all had a great time at the party, but the one mistake I made was meal time...because I didn't speak up for help.

Tips for the next one:

  • Bring their seats to eat (we love our Hiccapop)

  • Ask for help

  • Be brave and let them do the things [bounce house, juice box, etc]
