🛳️ 5 Reasons We Love Cruising as a Family (Especially With Twins)

Traveling with kids can feel like you’re just parenting in a different location… with more luggage and less routine. But cruising has been one of the only vacations where it actually feels easier, not harder.

As a full-time working mom with twin girls, I’m always looking for ways to simplify life—and cruising has surprisingly become one of our favorite ways to travel as a family.

Here’s why it works so well for us:

1. Zero Planning Stress

One of the biggest reasons we love cruising is how little we have to plan once we’re on board.

There’s no figuring out where to eat, what to do next, or how to structure the day. Everything is already built in—from meals to entertainment—and we can just go with the flow.

As a mom who usually carries the mental load of planning everything, this alone makes a huge difference.

2. Unlimited Food That Actually Works for Kids

Feeding kids on vacation can be stressful—especially when they’re picky or constantly hungry.

On a cruise, there’s always something available. Whether it’s a quick snack, a full meal, or something in between, we never have to worry about finding food they’ll eat.

And if they don’t like something? We just grab something else. No pressure, no wasted meals.

3. You Wake Up Somewhere New Every Day

One of the most fun parts of cruising is waking up in a new destination without having to pack, drive, or navigate anything.

There’s something really special about opening the curtains and seeing a completely new place, while still having the comfort of your “home base” on the ship.

It keeps things exciting without adding stress.

4. Built-In Entertainment (No Effort Required)

Between pools, kids’ activities, shows, and open spaces to explore, there’s always something for the kids to do.

We don’t hear “I’m bored” nearly as much, and we’re not constantly trying to come up with ways to keep them entertained.

Everything is right there, and it makes the days feel easy and full without being overwhelming.

5. Real, Uninterrupted Family Time

At home, it’s easy to get caught up in routines, errands, and everything else that fills the day.

On a cruise, all of that disappears.

We’re not rushing anywhere. We’re not distracted by to-do lists. We’re just together—laughing, exploring, relaxing, and actually enjoying the time as a family.

Those are the moments that end up meaning the most.

Final Thoughts

Cruising isn’t just a vacation for us—it’s a reset.

It simplifies everything that usually feels complicated about traveling with kids and replaces it with ease, fun, and connection.

And honestly, at this stage of life, that’s exactly what we need.
